SHOULD YOU HIRE A VIDEOGRAPHER FOR YOUR WEDDING?

Wedding planning is a lot! I know you have a lot of options for vendors, entertainment, venue, catering, photographer, videographer, flowers & sometimes we try to cut costs but by maybe ditching a supplier? Don’t let that be your videographer & here is why!

REASON 1

Having someone film your day means you can watch it back as many times as you like. It sounds silly but your video will be around forever and generations down the line can cringe at what the fashion once was, the music taste & those crazy hair cuts. Your video may be around for ever, but unfortunately friends and family will not be. It’s a way to treasure the memories of loved ones, seeing their faces, hearing their voices or laughing at their timeless dance moves.

REASON 2

For me its not only about the visuals, its great to hear the audio back… not just those speeches and vows but those candid moments that you may have forgotten about: the laughter the tears and the ambient chitter chatter as your guests mingle. Uncle Bob giving it big licks on the dance floor!

REASON 3

So much goes by on your wedding day, you will miss things that a videographer will capture. A simple thing is watching your significant other getting ready in the morning, seeing if they are relaxing or stressing: known as groom /bridal prep.

REASON 4

Bragging rights! Its pretty cool to say you had a videographer these days with those social media trendy highlights or those tik tok reels that go viral from the best man’s speech.

REASON 5

No regrets! You won’t want to think the day after your wedding that you wish you should have hired a videographer. I have never read someone wish that they never got a wedding film.

REASON 6

If you are worried that a videographer is going to be in the way all day that’s far from true. Many have the latest cameras that are super small (mirrorless) & many film handheld so they can just blend in with your guests catching those sneaky candid moments

How about a tip? If you are really keen to have a videographer but it’s a little over your budget, maybe you can compromise and cut the cost on something else? Cheaper cake? Less flowers… sure im a little biased as a videographer but a wise photographer once told me “why the f*** would you spend up to £1k on a dance floor when you can get a videographer or a top class photographer.” – cheers Julieanne Whyte Photography lol Some say it’s the fear of missing out & to be honest I agree, in 2021 I read that it’s a brides biggest regret not getting a videographer… ok I made that up but you don’t want to be kicking yourself thinking …. Just maybe I should have booked someone.
