what began as a teenage festival fling turned into a beautiful reunion ten years later

Rachel and Paul first crossed paths at Tea in the Park in 2009, just after leaving school. Although they had gone through high school together, Rachel said Paul had never really noticed her until that summer, when he kindly offered to put up her tent. They briefly dated but soon went their separate ways, assuming they might not meet again.

A decade later, almost to the day, fate brought them back together through Instagram. They began dating, and despite Rachel’s attempts to impress Paul with her adventurous side, he soon discovered her happiest place was simply relaxing at home. Their relationship grew stronger through the COVID years, and they eventually moved in together, welcoming their beloved dog, Ziggy, into their lives.

Paul proposed on Ziggy’s first birthday in October 2022 at St Andrews, Rachel’s favourite place. Eager and nervous, Paul dropped to one knee almost the moment they stepped onto the sand, and Rachel—after prompting him to actually ask the question—happily said yes.

Their love is built on laughter, support, and admiration: Rachel is proud of Paul’s courage to step out of his comfort zone, while Paul deeply admires Rachel’s determination and resilience. Together, they’ve found not only a partner but also their perfect match.
