A Dreamy Coastal Wedding in Dunbar

“AN ELEGANT WEDDING AT ST MARY’S CHURCH IN WHITEKIRK WITH STUNNING VIEWS OVER DUNBAR”

With breathtaking views over the Dunbar coastline, Ele and Lewis found the perfect place to say "I do" in the heart of East Lothian.

After moving to London to pursue their careers, the couple always knew that when it came time to tie the knot, they’d return to their roots in Scotland. Their hearts were set on a Scottish wedding surrounded by family and friends, and after months of searching, they discovered the ideal setting that brought their vision to life.

Morning prep began with Ele getting ready in the luxury lodge with her bridesmaids, Mum & Dad whilst Lewis got ready with his groomsmen in one of the beach lodges

Ele had always dreamed of walking down the aisle of a traditional church, and St Mary's Parish Church in Whitekirk offered exactly that—charm, heritage, and beauty.

Just a short distance away, Harvest Moon provided the relaxed and intimate setting they wanted for their reception. With a backdrop of white sandy beaches and secluded woodland, the venue offered a magical mix of rustic charm and coastal vibes.

From Fiesta to Forever

Ele & Lewis’s love story began in May 2013, with something as simple  as a message on social media. They were just two 17-year-olds who couldn’t stop talking for three weeks straight. Eleanor would sneak out of school to hop into Lewis’s beloved Ford Fiesta, and they’d drive around singing, laughing, and “just being friends” (according to Ele... at the time!).

But even then, something special had started.

On September 24th, 2013, they had their first kiss at St. Margaret’s Loch in Edinburgh. A month later, they officially became a couple.  through uni days, city moves, music festivals, and quiet nights in. They built a life together in Edinburgh, bought their first flat, and eventually moved to London in 2023.

Ten years to the day since Lewis asked Elle to be his girlfriend, he asked her to marry him, after a 2am  adventure up a mountain (past porcupines, police stops, and one dramatic hotel lock-in). At sunrise, overlooking the jungle in Sri Lanka, he got down on one knee. She said yes through tears and laughter.
